Leeds Jurassic Trail

This summer Leeds is being invaded by a group of animatronic dinosaurs who have found refuge in a number of locations throughout the city centre. The trail is a bit of a misnomer as 4 out of the 5 permanent dinosaurs are from the Cretaceous; Deinonychus, Carnotaurus, Triceratops and Tyrannosaurus Rex, an Apaosaur was the only Jurassic creature. Fans of the Jurassic Park franchise will enjoy the spectacle of dinosaurs loose in the city, palaeontology purists will however note a large number of inaccuracies with the anatomy.

"Cage raptors" the information seemed to refer to Deinonychus. although no
feathers are featured and the sickle-shaped toe claw is missing. 

We had to make our own trail to find the remains of some (admittedly less impressive) Jurassic prehistoric beasts. The Headrow in Leeds which was rebuilt in the 1940s has many buildings built from Portland Stone. Look out for buildings like this:

The only types of fossil we found were bivalves. Types of oyster are common across the Whitbed strata. They can be found scattered throughout the material or collect in lees.
We found none above -10cm in size.
